"We may need a dumb judge who can empathise with the plight of the stupid." The great Janet Albrechtson zeroes in on Sotomayor.

Dennis Miller on Satomayor. The judge lacks intellectual depth but not physical width.

“During the election that Odinga lost, Obama's bias for his fellow Luo was so blatant that a Kenya government spokesman denounced Obama during his visit as Odinga's "stooge." [The rest of THIS story is at the end of the post.] But I digress.

At The Australian newspaper, actual journalist and whip smart conservative babe Janet Albrechtson, nailed the identity politics scam of Sotomayor with a great line. [Though I disagree with the un-necessary caveat of ”reverse".] Sotomayor IS a left liberal bigot, but that's the good kind! Hardeehardar.

“Like former president Bill Clinton, who told advisers in 1993 that “I want a judge with a soul”, Obama made his criteria clear in 2007 when he said:
“We need someone who’s got a heart to recognise - the empathy to recognise what it’s like to be a young teenage mom, the empathy to understand what it’s like to be poor or African-American or gay or disabled or old. And that’s the criteria by which I’m going to be selecting my judges.”
Stand by for future nominations of judges on the basis of their colour, their disabled status, their former poverty and single motherhood. And if your aim is to create a truly representative judiciary, we may need a dumb judge who can empathise with the plight of the stupid.

Now consider what Sotomayor has said. “Our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging.” And this.
“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion (as a judge) than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”

Via pjtv, the swingin' black conservative Christian Republican Machosauce on Sotomayor, Biden & Kennedy keep racism alive and well.

Via punditandpundette, the two-faced mental gymnastics of the Democrats:

“In her 2001 speech, after citing legal thinkers who called on jurists to transcend personal biases, Sotomayor questioned whether judges could in fact escape such prejudices.

“While recognizing the potential effect of individual experiences on perception, Judge Cedarbaum nevertheless believes that judges must transcend their personal sympathies and prejudices and aspire to achieve a greater degree of fairness and integrity based on the reason of law,” Sotomayor said.

“Although I agree with and attempt to work toward Judge Cedarbaum's aspiration, I wonder whether achieving that goal is possible in all or even in most cases. And I wonder whether by ignoring our differences as women or men of color we do a disservice both to the law and society.”

Sotomayor is also quoted as saying, "Personal experiences affect the facts that judges choose to see ... My hope is that I will take the good from my experiences and extrapolate them further into areas with which I am unfamiliar. I simply do not know exactly what that difference will be in my judging. But I accept there will be some based on my gender and my Latina heritage."

Colonel Neville: Now I'm just a simple layman, but isn't the whole point of having the alleged qualifications and experience to judge, is that you CAN? And that one follows and enforces THE LAW AS WRIT and nt how it er, feels? Gee, maybe it's all about identity politics. Yes, that must be it. Excellent then. Carry on, comrades. As long as one has the right kind of identity to get justice, eh? Hey, now justice is not blind but one eyed! Wa-hey!

Via hotair: “President Obama prefers Supreme Court justices who will violate their oath of office. And he hopes Sonia Sotomayor is the right Hispanic woman for the job.

When Obama voted against Chief Justice John Roberts’s confirmation, he said that Roberts didn’t have the “heart” to vote the right way in those 5 percent of cases. Rather than Roberts the Cruel, Obama explained, “we need somebody who’s got the heart — the empathy — to recognize what it’s like to be a young teenage mom. The empathy to understand what it’s like to be poor or African-American or gay or disabled or old — and that’s the criteria by which I’ll be selecting my judges.” Cue Sotomayor the Empathic. The reasoning here is a riot of dubious assumptions."

Colonel Neville: Obama’s silly sub-racist Judge Sotomayor, clearly digs basing the law on Marxist sodden identity politics. No really.

Hotair: “Whether born from experience or inherent physiological or cultural differences, a possibility I abhor less or discount less than my colleague Judge Cedarbaum, our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging. Justice O’Connor has often been cited as saying that a wise old man and wise old woman will reach the same conclusion in deciding cases.

I am not so sure Justice O’Connor is the author of that line since Professor Resnik attributes that line to Supreme Court Justice Coyle. I am also not so sure that I agree with the statement. First, as Professor Martha Minnow has noted, there can never be a universal definition of wise. Second, I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”

Blonde on blonde, heart ache on heart ache.

Leslie 'less is more crock of snide' Crocker Snyder, calls the groovy Rush Limbaugh a "racist!" as is the leftard habit. Sadly, Leslie the gleaming pinhead neglects to provide a single shred of supporting evidence. Ah, the left liberal understanding of the logical and evidential basis of law, in action! Enjoy the well paid and laughable sub-par results of a modern University education.

And Joe Biden's style of two faces have I.

“When President Bush nominated Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court, Sen. Joe Biden had this to say:
"I think that the only reason Clarence Thomas is on the Court is because he is black. I don't believe he could have won had he been white. And the reason is, I think it was a cynical ploy by President Bush.”

Obama always gets an across the boredom free pass from the MSM. And a Pew Report on same.

Atlasshrugs on more Obama political favours to mucho Marxist Black Panther pals, Sharia creep enabling and fraud. Gee, MORE identity politics! It's a festa of violent and manipulative grievance fraud. Celebrate a diversity of one kind of mentality with Obama cronyism!

Gosh golly and gee whizz! More bankrupt and corrupt Obama political favouritism. Obama campaigned for fellow Luo tribesman and Muslim pro-Sharia mass murderer dictator Odinga. As you do.

“During the election that Odinga lost, Obama's bias for his fellow Luo was so blatant that a Kenya government spokesman denounced Obama during his visit as Odinga's "stooge."

During the election Raila was behind horrible massacres. The victims of the violence had mostly been members of President Kibaki's tribe, the Kikuyu. Those who went berserk were supporters of Mr. Odinga's Orange Democratic Movement, which is dominated by the rival Luo tribe.
As the riots and bloodshed continued, Raila Odinga poured tribal and religious gasoline on Kenya's fire. He urged using rape as a weapon and encouraged maiming and dismemberment. And Odinga was behind the Kenyan ethnic chaos that would provoke an Al Qaeda comeback.”
